【Abstract】 The application for research funds from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC) is a great challenge for scientists and researchers as well as an opportunity to them. Based on causal analysis, the primary factors affecting the acceptance or refusal of a proposal by NNSFC were recognized from 20 factors potentially influential on the proposals submitted by Zhejiang Agricultural University in the past ten years.
