【Abstract】 To evaluate the safety and efficacy of two attenuated live Salmonella gallinarum strains 97A,97B as vaccine candidates to protect chickens against salmonellosis caused by virulent S.gallinarum,SPF and Salmonella free chickens were inoculated through orally,intranasally or subcutaneously at 1day of age with these two strains and were challenged 21 days later by oral inoculation of ca.10 9 colony forming units of virulent S.gallinarum.97A given orally,intranasally or SC to chickens was safe,in contrast,97B still had slightly virulent.Both of 97A and 97B significantly reduced in mortality after challenge.It suggested that 97A has potential as an effective vaccine to aid in the prevention of fowl typhoid and the related disease in chickens.更多还原
