【Abstract】 In teaching the intensive reading texts in College English the traditional appoach is to explain the words first and then the expressions, sentences, paragraphs and finally the wholetext. In practice, this approach fails to completely explain the social function of the English lan-guage.This paper is intended to discuss how to break free from this method by using the reverse-order approach, i.e., analyzing discours efirst,then successively explaning paragraphs, sen-tences, words and expressions. This approach has proved to be effective in making the students better understand and practice the language learned and in better cultivating thestudents’ ability to solve problems on their own.更多还原
