【摘要】 介绍了Ｓａｌｔｈｏｕｓｅ提出的认知老化的加工速度理论（ＰＳＴ）．ＰＳＴ假设许多认知任务都受少数一般加工限制的影响，加工速度是年龄相关的关键性一般加工限制，系成人年龄与认知成绩之间关系的中介变量，并遵循限时机制和同时机制而运作：随着加工速度的慢化，个体同时加工的信息数量减少、质量下降，造成较差的认知成绩．最后，将ＰＳＴ与认知老化的其他理论进行比较，指出了其优点及需要进一步研究的问题更多还原

【Abstract】 irstly,this article introduces the processing speed theory(PST) of cognition aging proposed by salthouse(1996).PST hypothesizes that a number of cognitive tasks are influenced by a few of general processing constranits,in which the processing speed that declined with aging is a crucial one.The processing speed operating with the limited time mechanism and the simultaneity mechanism,functions as an important mediator of the relations between age and measures of cognitive functioning.The relevant information that can be simultaneously processed is decreasing and degrading when the speed is slowing,which led to worse cognitive performance.Finally,PST is compared with other theories in the adult age related cognitive difference research,and reviews its advantages and some issues for further investigation.更多还原
