【Abstract】 A new filtration technique for purification of carbon, stainless, high speed, low and high alloy steel castings in investment casting was investigated. By means of mechanical properties determination, optic and electronic microscope examination and practical application it is verified that the usage of cap type filter could improve steel casting properties and effectively reduce inclusive cast defects in investment casting.
