【摘要】 介绍了建立在ATM上的虚拟网、虚拟网内部成员间的通信。并将虚拟网络的基本原理应用在上海站ATM主干网络建设中,提出了基于ATM的上海站VLAN建设模型

【Abstract】 Virtual local area network(VLAN) is a new solution for enterprise network, to which more attentions are being paid by network designers due to advantages of reduction of administration overhead, flexible ways of network configuration and logic topology, capability of realizing physical independent logic architecture, effectiveness of avoiding broadcasting storms, and bandwidth saving. We also introduce the basis of the VLAN over ATM backbone, communication between VLANs or members in specified VLAN, and their application in ATM backbone of Shanghai Railway Station.
