【Abstract】 The present paper deals with two new species of the genus Microcephalothrips from China. The type specimens are deposited in the Entomological Museum of Northwestern Agricultural University. 1. Microcephalothrips chinensis, sp. nov. (Fig.1) The new species is similar to Microcephalothrips abdominalis (Craword), but differs from the latter in the following aspects: posterior margin of mesoscutum with a small stylus,scallop-like of abdominal terga I-VIII triangular, sides of abdominal tergite VIII with gland hole. Holotype♀,paratypes 10♀♀,Yangling, Shaanxi, 5-IX-1995, collected from compositae by Guo Hongwei. 2. Microcephalothrips jigongshanensis, sp. nov.(Fig.2) This new species resembles to M.chinensis and M.abdominalis, but differs from them in its posterior margin of mesoscutum without stylus,three posterior ocelli setae arranged in shape of inverse triangle.
