【Abstract】 The important role played by the conflict negotiation support system in concurrent engineering (CE) is analyzed, and the key techniques as well as methods for conflict negotiation support system are studied. There are three state spaces of negotiation in CE, they are proposal and counterproposal, evaluation and decision-making. The process of negotiation in CE is a recursive transition one among the three states. A conflict negotiation support system is an integrat1on of several support tools, including the product data management (PDM ), the case-based reasoning, the constraint management tool, the utility evaluation tool and the history support tool.
