【Abstract】 Chromosomes data exist in 110 tick species. Among the Argasidae, information on chromosomes is available on 12 species of Ornithodors ,12 species of Argas and 2 species of Otobius. Chromosomes data also exist on species whin eight genera of Ixodidae. These include 11 species of Ixodes,3 of Boophilus,16 of Haemaphysalis,12 of Dermacentor,5 of Aponomma,19 of Amblyomma ,6 of Rhipicephalus and 12 of Hyalam-ma.Sex determination is Xo,XX;XY.
