【Abstract】 ccording to the present classic documents and the archeaological excavating data of recent years, this paper denies the statement of Houji’s having no farther and his living in matriarchal society to paternal society, predicts the time of Houji’s birth was between the 15th Emperor WoJia(沃甲) and the 16th Emperor ZuDing(祖丁)in the Shang dynasty. To speak broadly, he lived in 15th century B.C. In light of the abovementioned view, this paper makes a new explanation on some legends such as Houji’s mother conceiving him after treading giant’s footmasks, Houji once being an agricultural official and his teaching people to cultivate.更多还原
