【Abstract】 Dulcitol in traditional Chinese compound prescription "Tongbilin" was determined by HPLC. This method is based on the fact that polyols like dulcitol and glucose diethyl mercaptol (internal standard) can react with phenylisocyanate to yield UV-absorbing derivatives which can be detected at 240 nm by HPLC.
