【Abstract】 In the present paper, the theoretical basis for value compensation, value compensation and realization, practical compensation patterns and mechanism of non - industrial ecological forests are discussed in detall. it is noted that the chief obstacle to the value compensation mechanisxn for nonindustrial ecological forests is that most value -’ compensating policies werc made based on the compensation for ecological benefits and thus strayed from the present cc0nomic state of China.
