【Abstract】 n this paper, a new source model for image sequence was established based on edge information. The model isn’t a traditional version since the foundation is not same as discrete random field. The method to construct the model is relatively simple and reliable. No prior knowledge is needed for modeling. While the new one applied in image sequence encoding successfully, the coding is beyond the range of classical waveformbased concept.
