【Abstract】 In this paper a new species of nematod Contracaecum (O.)pelecani sp.nov.collected from the small intestine of the European white pelican in Huecheng County,Xinjiang Au-tonomous Region,China.Contracaecum (Orintocaecum) pelecani sp.nov.(figs.1~9)The new species resembles C.(O.) praestriatum Monnig,1923 and C. (O.) hoff-manni Caballero,1935,but differs from latter two species mainly in the following charac-teristics:1.Spicules 2.050~2.280mm in length,rather than 1.900mm and 1.424mm in length as in praestriatum and hoffmanni.2.The shape and size of the gubernaculum.3.Postanal papillae four pairs,anterior three pairs with couble papillae and the fourth pair with single papilla,rather than five and seven pairs as in the latter two species respective-ly.4.Thirty-one to thirty-two pairs of preanal single papilla,rather than eighteen and twenty-three pairs.5.The number of papillae on the principal lips.Host:European white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus).Location:intestine.Locality:Huecheng County (44°11’N, 8°40’ E), Xinjiang Autonomous Region,China.Types:Holotype ,Allotype ,Paratypes 10,10.All deposited in the Shaanxi Institute of Zoology,Xian,China.更多还原
