【Abstract】 The transmit rate is constant in STM networks now in use. In this case the time varying bitflow generated by video coders has no way to directly access the constant bit rate channel. While the characters such as asynchronous transferring, statistical multiplexing and QoS support in ATM network make it an appropriate technology for variable bit rate video transmission. The article presents statistical models of VBR video sources and discusses the problems of QoS control, statistical multiplexing and bandwidth allocation in ATM environment.更多还原
