【Abstract】 Besides the basic knife spindles horizontal at up and down sides and vertical at right and left sides, modern four side planers usually have a universal knife spindle, an inclinable vertical knife spindle, a planing and pressing knife spindle, a preplaning groove knife spindle, a sunkable vertical knife spindle, a programmable multi-knife-disk vertical knife spindle with a long folding spindle and a moveable up and down knife spindle.
