【摘要】 论述了1：400万全国地理底图数据库的基本内容、数学基础、数据结构和数据组织方法及数据库系统的功能,并对该数据库的特点和意义作了简单分析。

【Abstract】 In this paper. the contents. mathematical foundation, data structure and its organization. functions of database system for the 1: 4 000 000 state geographic fundamental map database have been discussed. then. the specialities and meanings on this database system have been given.
