【Abstract】 Proteoglycans were demonstrated to be involved in various aspects of cell-to cell or cell-to extracellular matrix interactions. In male reproductive tract , proteoglycans have been mainly characterized in testicular extracellular matrix and somatic cells. Though the biological roles of protoeglycans in male reproductive tract are not currently established , the molecular characterization of some of them is indicative that they might be involved in various regulatory processes during Spermatogenesis. In female reproductive organs , various proteoglycans and hyaluronan have been isolated. Special attention has been directed to changes in the composition of these molecules in the tissue during pregnancy and ovulation. Heparin sulphate proteoglycans are widely distributed on the plasma membrane of the most mammalian cells including female reproductive organs. The role of proteoglycans with heparin in mammalian fertilyzation has also been studied.更多还原
