【Abstract】 Xinjiang is the centre area of Petraogallus distributed, 3 species and 9 subspecies in total. Petraogallus is the second — class protected animals in China, ancl also the rare alpine birds with certain economic and medical values. The snow cock mainly distrlhuted in the Tianshan Mts, the Kunlun Mts. and Artay Mts.
