【Abstract】 One of the most important specification of paper quality and economical effectivety is ash content.A real-time expert control system is applied to control the ash content of the papermachine.This paper describes an approach of progressive reasoning to deal with the real-time problem of the expert control system.By applying the phase plane strategy, the system provides acceptable control results in a given period of time.It also combines the direct expert control and the indirect supervisory control through a hierarchical knowledge base.A direct prototype of the real-time expert control system has been developed with satisfactory simulation results obtained.更多还原
