【Abstract】 In order to study the relationship between alterinara toxin(a mixture of the toxic metabolites of alterinara) and esophageal cancer, alternariol and altenariol-9-methyl ether were prepared according to the method of F. Soti, et al. We found that in some of the synthetic steps the yields we obtained were quite lower than those they reported.So we could not help but modify the experimental conditions here and there to improve the yields.
