This paper gives a brief account of the studies on the higher nervous activitity of fishes in Russia. Emphasis is laid on the application of the studies on behavior and sensory system of fishes in Russia,including the general principles of fish behavior control and the application of the studies on behavior and sensory system of fishes in fish capture,fish culture,and installations and equipment of fish protection and fish pass.
