【摘要】 <正> 一、早期中西文献的记载1.《明史·佛朗机传》 十六世纪新航路开通后,西人接踵来华,而有关“西人东来事迹,吾国史书,多述其事,然散出群籍,检寻未易。清初纂修《明史》,尤西堂(侗)任纂外国各传,始采集前人所述,汇归为佛郎机、吕宋、和兰、欧罗巴四传(见《西堂馀集·明史外国传》)。厥后万季野(斯同)以布衣参史局,于西堂旧稿,重加釐定,损益颇多;且易欧罗巴为意大里亚(现存万季野史稿可参考)。王鸿绪《横云山人史稿》取季野之文,而稍点窜其文句,而于史实则无更易。张廷玉主修《明史》,复取王氏《史稿》而删定之,遂成今本《明史》四传,世之谈欧亚交通史者,率更多还原
