【Abstract】 This paper presents the experimental studies about the mixing, diffusion and erosion of circular turbulent wall jets. Two series of experiments were performed. The first series was on the fixed bed, whereas the second series was on the movable silt bed. In the fixed bed experiments,the variation of velocity scales and the length scales with the axial distance from the nozzle was investigated. In the second series experiments, the variation of the eroded bed profiles with the jet velocity was observed, and the critical erosion shear velocity was obtained. The empirical formulas have been established so that one could predict the velocity field near bed plane and the scoured hole sizes.更多还原
