【Abstract】 new instrument for the noncontact measurement and the selection of thickness is described, in which the transducer consists of a pneumatic displacement sensor and s transformer type displacement sensor developed by the authors. Noncontact measurement, suitability for both metal and nonmetal, and freedom from moisture, grey scale and the density of the object to be measured are three specific features of the instrument.
