【Abstract】 The expansible graphite with low sulfur has been prepared using acidic potassium permanganate as oxidant and acetic anhydride as medium. The best conditions of preparation are graphite:Ac 2O∶98%H 2SO 4∶KMnO 4=1∶1.0∶0.13∶0.06(mass ratio), reaction temperature 25℃, reaction time 2h.
