【Abstract】 In this paper,the preparation of meso-phenyl substituted tetrabenzoporphyrinato-zinc by an improved synthetic procedure are described. After purification,four pure compounds (Zn-PnTBP n = 1 ̄4) are obtained. Their absorption spectra are determined,and the reason of discrepant data for same compound appeared in references is explained. In addition,the effects of solvent polarity and pyridine content on the Soret and Q absorption spectra of Zn-P2 TBP are discussed.
