【Abstract】 The floral structure and the flowering habit of the Aibai wheat are similar to those of Taigu male sterile wheat. The vitality of stigma of sterile plants could maintain more than 10d. The plant height of sterile plants is 1/2 to 1/3 shorter than that of fertile plants, and the ears of sterile plants are thereupon shaded by the top 1st-2nd leaves of fertile plants, resulting in the decreased cross-pollinated seed setting percentage, attributed to reduce the opportunity that pollens reach onto the stigmas of the sterile plants. The higher the plant density,the lower the seed setting percentage. The heading dates of sterile plants are 2-5 days later than the fertile plants, this is unfavourable to pollination and seed setting. The seed setting percentage may be also reduced when it is at flowering stage. The experimental results from five seasons within four years have shown that cross-pollinated seed setting percentage are 16.07%-52.33% averagely.更多还原
