【Abstract】 A nonlinear and continuous strength degradation model is presented from the point of view that fatigue is the process during which material strength degrades constantly. The model is applied to predict residual lives for two level cyclic loading, multiple amplitude program loading and random loading, and verified by the experiment using 16 Mn steel.
