【Abstract】 fraction(C2), more carcinogenic than BaP at the same dose level.is isolated from coal tar pitch(CTP) by solvent extrac tion, vacuum sublimation and column chromatography successively. It is insoluble or hardly soluble in methyl alcohol, soluble in cyclohexane, sublimated at 250～300℃in vacuum and can be eluted from silica gel column by bexane.
