【Abstract】 Concurrent Engineering, whose ambition is to increase the competitiveness by decreasing the leadtime and cost and still improving quality,is now in the focus of research for computer integrated manufacturing (CIM),there is a common agreement that concurrent engineering is stressed in the design process. However, the dynamic characteristics of manufacturing process and the variety of product market both often lead to the impossibility of modifying the design of product at any time and the difficulty of implementing concurrent engineering, so the concurrent method is also needed using in the area of roanufacturing. This paper presents the concept of concurrent manufacturing in contrast with concurrent engir ering,and analyses the features and architecture of concurrent process planning, after that, the application strategies of concurrent manufacturing are discussed.更多还原
