【Abstract】 The study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of slow release oral isradipine in patients with essential hypertension. Twenty-eight patients(WHO criteria:Ⅰor Ⅱ stage) were treated with the calcium antagonist 5￣ 10 mg daily for four weeks.The results showed that the blood pressure was normalized or reduced in 24 (85. 7%) patients by the end of the fourth week. A full 24 hour blood pressure control was covered by the drug with a low incidence of side-effects such as headache and dizziness.It was concluded that slow release oral isradipinr is effective and safe. It can be used as first-line antihypertensive therapy.更多还原
