【Abstract】 Critical linguistics refers to the application of linguistic methods, chiefly of systemic-functional grammar developed by M.A.K Halliday, in the analysis of public discourse to illuminate the ideology encoded implicitly behind the overt presentation. This paper illustrates its philosophical and linguistic background, its opinions on language, discourse, context and ideology, and introduces its linguistic analytical tools. It also sets out the author’s view of its development, as well as the author’s comment on its role in the discipline of linguistics as a whole.更多还原
