Production of transgenic rice plants via low energy ion beam-mediated DNA delivery into mature embryos

【摘要】 <正> Since the first transgenic rice plant was obtained in 1988, great progress has been made. According to Yu Zengliang’s discovery that the wall of plant cells could be etched or bored by low energy ion beam treatment which possesses advantages of accurate focusing and easy control, a new gene transfer technique, i.e. ion beam-mediated DNA delivery is developed here. Transgenic rice plants can be obtained by low energy ion beam-mediated DNA delivery into mature embryos.
