【Abstract】 This paper introduces the main function and the information flow for a breakthrough project of the Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Corporation Computer Integrated Manufacturing System (CAC CIMS). It describes the critical techniques of its development, such as the definition of the feature-based part models, the design of the feature-based generative process planning (CAPP), integration of CAM and CAD/CAPP, and Engineering Data Base.
