【Abstract】 This paper describes the performance characteristics of a commercial HP-4500 ICP-MS. Data about sensitivity, precision, background and detection limit are presented. Accuracy is assessed by analysis of geological reference materials. The calibration procedure using Rh(103) as an internal standard for many elements, covering the full working range 7 to 238 m/z, works well. The results obtained for a wide range of trace elements are in good agreement with certified values. The potential of ion chromatography on-line hyphenated with ICP-MS in the analysis of high purity REE materials is also described.更多还原
