【Abstract】 Sixty-eight liver biopsy specimens from patients with chronic hepatitis C (47 cases with CPH and 21 cases with mild or moderate CAH) and 32 specimens from patients with chronic hepatifis B (17 cases with CPH and 15 caese with CAH ) were studied to determine the histopathological features of hepatitis C. The cases with hepatitis C were confirmed by serological tests including test for anti-HCV antibody. Hepatocytic steatosis in various degree was detected in most of th cases (50/68) of hepatitis C; dense lymphoid aggregates in portal tracts were found in 47 cases, sometimes forming lymphoid follicles; much pronounced sinusoidal infiltrates of lymphocyte and Kupffer cell hyperplasia appeared in hepatitis C cases in spite of milder acidophilic degeneration and focal necrosis of hepatocytes in the acini as compared with cases of hepatitis B. The histopathological features of chronic hepatitis C were dis-cussed and it is suggested that in hepatitis C the hepatocel-lular damage might result to a great extent from the deirect cytopathic effect of the HCV.Chronic hepatitis;hepatitis C;histopathol-ogy.更多还原
