【Abstract】 A method was developed for determination of trace Pd in geological materials in this paper. Palladium is extracted into methylisobutyl ketone (MIBK) from strong acid medium using ammonium pyrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) as the ligand.The organic phase is analysed for Pd by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). The best conditions of determination of Pd have been studied. The sensitivity of this method is higher than others. its characteristic mass is 1.68×10-11g/1% absorption. In order to measure the precision of this method, single analyses of the sample 72-Pt-01 were conducted ten times. The standard deviation was 0.005; the relative standard deviation was 18.7%. Five standard rocks and ores have been analysed by this method. Analysis values are similar to the published values.
