【Abstract】 Raising seedlings in plastic trays with many eyes and transplanting by way of seedling-throw-ing is a newly-developed cultural technology of high yielding and efficiency.The practices are mainly:)Raising seedlings in plastic trays. It includes the preparation of trays, seedling bed and rich bed soil, placingthe trays in the seedling bed and sowing2～5 just- germinated(i.e. with white bud point appearing)seeds inan eye(2 seeds for hybrid rice,4～5seeds for early conventional rice and3～4seeds for late conventionalrice)7～10 days earlier than usual(8～10 days for early rice and 7～8days for late rice),and after sowing,the bed should be covered with plastic sheets in early season to keep it warm and covered with straw in lateseason to preserve moisture in it and keep it from the sun. (2)Throw-planting. After the main field is lev-elled and when the seedlings are at 3.1-leaf stage, the transplanting should be started by throwing seedlingswith the planting density at 225000～270000 hills/ha.for early rice and at 195000～270000hills/ha. for laterice.
