【Abstract】 The purpose of the present study was to assess the root canal disinfection with a chlorhexidine controlled release delivery system by animal experiment.Root canal infection was induced in 120 teeth in dogs. After the instrumentation,canals were treated with the chlorhexidine collon pillet and formocresol 7 days using an anaerobic technique.The results indicated that the chlorhexidine controlled release system was more effective than others in rendering the root canal free of bacteria(P<0.05). The advantages of this antiseptic with a long lasting effect for the elimination of bacteria from the root canal and for prevention of reinfecton were emphasized.更多还原
