【Abstract】 ickel( )reacts with 2-(2-pyrrolyazo)benzoic acid to form a stable complex,Experimental results show that the maximum absorption of the complex is at 529nm.The optimum acidityis pH 6.9~8.9,at which the molar ratio of Nickel()to the reagent is found to be 1:2.Apparent molar absorption coefficient is 1.68×10 ̄4L·mol ̄(-1)·cm ̄(-1).Beer′s law is obeyed from 0 to2g of Ni in 1ml.The method has been successfully applied to the determination of microamounts of Ni in aluminium alloys and cobalt concentrates.
