一种适用于超高分子量聚合物的新型粘度计
A NEW TYPE LOW SHEAR RATE CAPILLARY VISCOMETER
【摘要】 高分子量聚合物稀溶液在常规乌氏粘度计中流动的剪切速率超过了溶液从牛顿流体转变为非牛顿流体的临界剪切速率,用这种粘度计测得的特性粘数值误差很大。本文介绍了一种新设计的玻璃毛细管粘度计,测粘流动的剪切速率低于公认的临界值,在牛顿流动区测定聚合物稀溶液的特性粘数,因而适用于高分子量和超高分子量聚合物。
【Abstract】 A large error may be introduced when the intrinsic viscosity of high molecular mass (MM) polymers is measured by common Ubbelohde (U-) viscometer. A modification of U-vicometer with capillary tube installated horizontally is designed to obtain the shear rate low enough(<50s ̄(-1)) for the test solutions of high and ultrahigh MM (partially hydrolyzed) polyacrylamides to flow in newtonian pattern.It is shown that the higher the MM the stronger shear rate dependent is the value of measured intrinsic viscosity; in the modified U-viscometer the zero shear rate value of intrinsic viscosity is measured for these polymers.
