【Abstract】 The authors introduce the main parameters of the metal floating seal for roller bits,including the conical length and the semi-conical angle on bit leg journal and the semi-conical angle of the floating ring, present the method for designing these parameters, give their selecting ranges determined by experiment, and point out that, in designing the seal, the width of the floating ring should be determined first, and then the diameter of the ring can be worked out by sealing pressure and sealing force. In addition, the authors give an example of design, and introduce the equipment and method for inspecting the quality of the seal.更多还原
