【Abstract】 ased on the basic Principles of hydrodynamics and in-fUrnace aerodynarnics an analysis is made ofthe mechanism,of the occurrence of peitive-positive-preure in a boiler furnace. It has been proved that inthe case of a large-voume furnace with a small furnace arch the maintenance of a negative PressSure of0-20 Pa at the furnace outlet will Prevent the occurrence of a peitive Pressure. With resect to asmall-volume furnace with a very low and long furnace arch the positive Ptessutrc Can to a great ex tent be avoided through a proper furnace design and arch construction as well as in-furnace rationalaerodynamic diameters.
