【Abstract】 A New method for radar target classification is proposed. The wavelets transform is used to extract the features of the radar waveform and a neural network is used asthe classifier. Here the wavelets transform also takes the place of data compression. Thismethod is tested using radar waveforms gotten from the anechoic chamber. The averagecorrect classification rate is about 98%.
