【Abstract】 he formation of " voussoir beam" in the overlyingstrata depends essentially on the " S - R"( sliding androtation) stability condition of the key block of the beam.Having analysed it in detail, the paper gave out thecriterion of the stability condition and consequentlyestablished a relatively complete mechanieal medelconsidering the mechanical characteristics of the immediateroof.
