【Abstract】 The global seismicity still remained at medium level during the second quarter of the year 1994.There was a strong earthquake sequence with a mainshock of Ms 7.2 occurring in the Java Trenchsouth of the Java Island.There were a series of deep earthquakes occurring consecutively in SouthAmerica. A large deep earthquake took place on June 9 in northern Bolivia,with wide-spread feltrange. The earthquakes occurring alung the oceanic island-arc belt made up more than half of theglobal total,with the largest one occurring there during this quarter.The seismic activity also re-mained at medium level in the Eurasian seismic belt, but the seismicity along the west segment of theEurasian belt deserves close monitoring and tracking.更多还原
