【Abstract】 This paper reviews comprehensively the development of space structures in China and abroad. By space structure, it comprise thin shells, space truses, tatticed shells, cable-suspended and membrane structures. The different aspects in fundamental concept, classification and advantags of the space structures are discussed with introduction of several important examples of application in building.
