【Abstract】 In this paper the concept and principle of a new burner-horizontal bias combustion (HBC) pulverized coal burner for tangential firing is introduced. The burner is of improved flame stabilization, slagging resistance, low NOx. emission and high combustion efficiency.Experiments were made on a single burner test facility of 1 MWth with a low volatile bituminous coal. Results show that the HBC burner is superior to conventional pulverized coal fired burners in that it impoves the ignition, makes flame more stable, raises combustion zone gas temperature and ensures high combustion effciency.
