【Abstract】 A first derivative spectrophotometric method ispresented for the determination of chlorophyll a andchlorophyll b in green vegetables. Chlorophyll a is de-termined at 671nm using an acetone solution as thereference solution. Chlorophyll b is determined at467nm using a carotenoid solutiOn as the reference so-lution, The linear correlation coefficients of standardcurves are equal to 0.9999747 and 0.9999859 forchlorophyll a and chlorophyll b respectively.
